Pete Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has spoken out against Nigeria’ s forthcoming presidential election in 2023. Pete Edochie stated that young people should be given a chance to lead the country, and that Bola Tinubu, a presidential aspirant, is too old to run for President of Nigeria.
During the conversation, he was asked about his thoughts on who should be the country’ s future president. He stated that Nigeria should give an Igbo man the opportunity to lead the country and see what happens.
He went further to say that we should see what an Igbo man can do as President of Nigeria. We fall with him if he falls, and we progress with him if he advances.
He claimed that several of Nigeria’ s senior leaders are ill, and that Nigerians should consider this before electing one of them as president. It’ s not ideal to have a president who is always afflicted with health problems while in office.
Again, that it’ s an eyesore to elect a president who will live abroad and be taking medications. He used himself to give example, he tried to put a clear picture of the dozes of drugs he takes on a daily basis.
His major point was that Nigerians should elect a young person as president, preferably an Igbo man who can govern the country well.
Recall that during the meeting with the senators, , the former Lagos State governor, Tinubu, announced that his desire to succeed Buhari was not motivated by a desire for power.
” This (presidential ambition) is not about gaining power. It is about securing good government for the nation, ” Tinubu told the senators.
On the main reason why he met with the lawmakers, Tinubu said,
” I’ m here to seek your partnership in my quest to become the Presidential Candidate of our party and to win the general elections in February 2023 for all APC candidates. ”
What’ s your stake on this? Do you believe old age has effect on good governance?
