Early Life & Education
Ayra Starr was born on June 14 in the year 2002, in south-south, Nigeria of Benin City. She is from Edo State, Nigeria. But was raised in Lagos.
She comes from a Christian family She completed her primary and secondary school educational grade in Lagos State.
She is currently an undergraduate in a top university in southwest Nigeria.
Career
Ayra Starr started developing her interest towards music at a very early stage of life, which made her join the church choir where she served as a vocalist.
She always composed songs that were written in notebooks. She has performed several of her songs at church programs, school events, carnivals, and music festivals.
She started going to a recording studio close to her house to make music. She also started doing the covers of some of her favorite songs and posted them on her Instagram page.
One of the original songs which she composed and sang had over 15,000 views on Instagram. The song is titled Damages.
She came to spotlight in 2020 when the recording producer and label owner, Don Jazzy came across her page and saw videos of her singing.
Ayra Starr was signed into Mavins Record Label on the 21st January 2020 by Don Jazzy. Thus, she is currently part of the Mavin family including:, DNA Twins, Rema, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Ruger, and Crayon.
She started gaining a huge fans base after, the news of her being signed by mavins spread widely which made lot of Nigeria Celebrities started following her Instagram page.
