Kristin Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to parents, Deanna Che and Peter Kreuk.
She is of mixed ethnicity as her father is of Dutch descent while her mother who was born in Indonesia, is of Chinese descent. She also has a sister named Justine Kreuk.
She trained in Karate and gymnastics and also wanted to study forensic science or psychology at Simon Fraser University before she was contacted by the casting director for the CBC television series Edgemont.

Kreuk began her career with a feature on the first season of the soap opera Edgemony.
She later got a lead role in the movie, Snow White: The Fairest of them All. She featured as Hannah in season three of Chuck in 2009 and made an appearance in the TV movie Ben Hur in 2010.
She also followed with a role in the sitcom Hitched and in 2011, she featured in the NBC drama series, 17th Precinct.
She was unveiled as the lead female character in The CW’s reboot of Beauty & The Beast, in February 2012.
She played the lead role in Burden of Truth in 2018, having appeared in the comedy film, EuroTrip (2004), and the short film, Dream Princess.
