Chelsea legend, Petr Cech, has given two reasons he is happy for the Blues’ Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid.
Chelsea was drawn last month to face Real Madrid in the Champions League last-8 later this month.
Thomas Tuchel’s men came out victorious against Real Madrid last season in the semi-final stage, with a 1-1 draw, followed by a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Writing in his Chelsea column, Cech said he is happy for Chelsea’s Champions League tie with Real Madrid because the Premier League giants can have home support and the West London club can play the return at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He said: “We are the holders, we met Real Madrid last year when we managed to knock them out, so it is special to play them again, but this time it is great that it will be with fans. This is the massive difference for me.
“So, I am really pleased firstly that we can have home support, these kinds of games are for the fans, and secondly that we can play the return at the Bernabeu, which is now back being used, although it is not fully finished.”
